Yes!! We welcome all genders in our CCA :)
(most years have a 1:1 ratio of boys and girls, so everyone is welcome and encouraged to join)
Don’t worry, you just need to have an open mind to try new things and be diligent in practicing. We look for a good attitude and passion for dance. Most boys that join VJD usually have no dance experience, as long as you keep a positive attitude and keep working hard, you'll be fine.
We are given many opportunities to perform throughout the year.
Our training sessions are generally three times a week, with the possibility of increasing to four times a week during peak periods, such as leading up to major performances like Concert Season and Victorian Affair (VJ's end-of-year concert for J1s).
We have several unique genres such as Contemporary, Hip Hop, Breaking and 2 types of Ballroom, Latin and standard ballroom!!
(after you join VJD, you’ll have to pick the genre you want to specialize in, hiphop or breaking, and latin or standard, contemp is compulsory for everyone. so altogether you’ll do 3 genres)
Come down for our auditions on 15 and 16 February, and give it your best shot!! There’ll be 2 genres for auditions, contemporary and hip hop! you can check our Instagram, for more info that we’ll upload closer to the dates of the audition
We are a very close-knit community, where we constantly encourage and support each other, especially when CCA sessions can get exhausting. We are always willing to lend a helping hand to one another and work hard together to grow and put on our best performances. VJD is truly like a family, and we all try our best to help each other grow as dancers and put on our best possible performances, while also enjoying our time together in an environment where we don't feel scared to make mistakes.
